The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Event Integration Architect supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Serve as an Event Integration Architect for the Missile Defense Event Engineering & Support (MDEES).

  • Help oversee the engineering life-cycle for a portfolio of enterprise IT offerings/services ensuring MDA Chief Information Officer (CIO) services and supported MDA Directors’ Enclaves/ Lab services are rendered, protected, and ready to support the execution of all Missile Defense Systems (MDS) events, including Flight tests, Ground tests, War-games & exercises, and real-world events.

  • Be a technically- focused Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will provide mentoring and training for technical team, and integrate with other Product and Delivery teams on IRES to ensure IT services are delivered for events.

  • Be a technically focused IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the events with the technical wherewithal to engage and integrate with other engineers/IT professionals with when required to support events requirements and services.

  • Assess current state and determine service capability required to meet near and long-term requirements for MDS test events, and analyze gaps between current and desired future state and develop implementation plan to transition to desire future state.

  • Collaborate pro-actively with the MDA technical event community, customers, and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and assess technology needs and requirements.

  • Work with managers, other architects/engineers (with technical capacity across enterprise spectrum), and others personnel provide services, solutions, and support for an event.

  • Lead technical discussion for specific events to ensure accuracy of work products and service offerings are ready to support the execution of MDS test events.

  • Discover, capture, and analyze technical requirements, implement technical solutions, and ensure the deliver IT services that meet the business needs of the MDS test event customers.

  • Design, configuration, and implement various IT services/solutions to include but limited to network, boundary protection, telephony, and COMSEC services.

  • Apply relevant engineering principles and practices in the development MDEES processes, procedures, and product deliverables.

  • Assist with the development of event architecture framework and define event architecture processes, standards, governance, and compliance.

  • Use customer feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments.

  • Continually analyze all pertinent data, including but not limited to customer experience, effectiveness, ease of use, and other information to optimize service offering.

  • Provide mentoring and training for technical team.

  • Assist the development of event Prioritized Asset List (PAL) and ensure event asset are protected during event execution.

  • Facilitate development of event specific Flight Test Environment (FTE) block diagrams technical solutions.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

This position is expected to pay $146,100 - $167,500 annually; depending on location , experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 8 years of general experience; Master's degree and 6 years of general experience

  • If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)

  • Must have 7 years of directly related/specialized experience

  • Must have 3 years of experience working in a management or leadership role

  • Must have a strong understanding and extensive background with various DoD communication systems and networks

  • Must have knowledge and experience with network architectures, engineering services, and continuous process improvement initiatives

  • Must have experience designing and implementing services of various network and boundary protection services, and is familiar with telephony, COMSEC, and other IT services

  • Must have experience leading engineering/technical personnel to implement a solution and interface with other matrixed-managed personnel

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Approved Baseline Certification.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:

  • Have a working knowledge of the MDS engineering principles, event management, support, and execution

  • Have a strong understanding and extensive background with IT Service Management/Delivery (ITSM/ITSD), System Lifecycle Methodologies, and Cyber Security protocols;

  • Have experience with the latest Cisco hardware and technology, such as Software-Defined Networking

  • Have a working knowledge of one or multiple event networks, systems, and enclaves (e.g. Flight Test Communication Network (FTCN), MDA DTR Event Enclave (DTREE), Training Support System (TSS), Command & Control Battle Management & Communications (C2BMC), GMD Communication Network (GCN), and/or other MDA two letters enclaves).

  • Have experience with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT best practices

  • Have a working knowledge of, or experience with, overseeing mission critical continuous operations and security centers

  • Have a current 8570 IAT Level III Approved Baseline Certification

  • Have an ITIL certification
