Your Impact:

The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Jr Network Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Work in close coordination with the User Network Access (UNA) lead, project managers, network engineers, and engineers from other service areas to coordinate an unified solution and implementation.

  • Support the O&M, design, configuration, installation, and test of IT network devices and systems at MDA remote sites by following standardized troubleshooting, design and implementation documentation, instructions, and procedures.

  • Receive hands on experience with the latest Cisco hardware and technology, such as Software-Defined Networking.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to work as a team to install, configure, test and troubleshoot network solutions at local and remote site locations.

  • Be able to follow documentation from senior network engineers to onboard and standup Cisco routers and switches.

  • Be familiar with Cisco routers and switches, DOD HAIPE devices such as GD KG-175 TACLANE, IP addressing, subnetting and DNS.

This position may require travel up to 25% of the time in support of MDA remote site integration activities.

This position may require on-call duties to support events and troubleshooting activities.

This position will be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO

This position is expected to pay $92,000 - $102,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 3 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 1 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 0 years of general experience

  • If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)

  • Must have 3 years of experience in an engineering field

  • Must have experience with physical layer cabling standards for interconnection between network devices

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher

  • Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have a Cisco CCNA Certification

  • Have Network technical experience with a solid understanding of Cisco internal and external routing protocols

  • Be familiar with Cisco Software-Defined Networking technologies

  • Be familiar with Remedy Action Request System

  • Be familiar with SolarWinds

  • Be familiar with SQL, Access, and VBA

  • Have a general understanding of Perl Scripting, PHP, Java Scripting, Expect Scripting
