Job Description:
The responsibilities of the Special Security Technician include, but are not limited to, assisting the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs); certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances / accesses; conducting SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics; obtaining signed nondisclosure agreements; and providing guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel. Serves as a CAP security specialist with emphasis on lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM. Reduces the chances for espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and / or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense or national security. Develops, implements, and integrates CAP program protection requirements in support of USSPACECOM essential program information, operations, technologies and systems during the DoD acquisition process. As the CAP / Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert, provides detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners’ CAP / SAP / SAR policies, plans and procedures. Recommends and executes “cradle to grave” security and program protection as it relates to USSPACECOM operations and equities. Trains all associated personnel on individual CAP / SAP program protection requirements and processes. Provides all CAP / SAP / SAR security operations and analysis decisions / recommendations in appropriate formats to meet DoD and USSPACECOM requirements. Other duties may include, but are not limited to audits of classified material; inspections of classified material storage facilities / SCIFs / containers; and, researching and preparing classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports and recommendations.

Typical salary range for this position is $97K to $107K and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.

Qualifications:
Meets all qualifications and skills of a Junior, plus:
• Demonstrates comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experiences for the labor category.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced. Demonstrates ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
• Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
• Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
• Minimum 6 years of experience relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Desired Requirements:
Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
Work Environment:
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance:
Attendance is always critical. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
