The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Senior Design Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Assist engineering efforts that provide engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.

  • Participate in efforts that develop recommendations and advice on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.

The selected candidate will support the Cyber Security Delivery Team and:

  • Work with Solutions Architecture to develop proposals and respond to customer requests.

  • Develop and maintain systems documentation, diagrams, changes, and standard operational procedures.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution as necessary.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

This position is expected to pay $146,100 - $162,500 annually; depending on location , experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 8 years of general experience; Master's degree and 6 years of general experience.

  • Must have 7 years of directly related experience in one or more of the following: software developer, application integration specialist, or in the fields related to enterprise application integration (EAI) experience and/or specific business domain experience

  • Must have 3 years of experience working in a management or leadership role

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT level II certification

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)

  • Have a thorough understanding of networking, such as understanding firewall ACLs, routing, and IP subnetting

  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (DoD RMF) or NIST 800-53A

  • Have experience in a Cyber Security team (i.e. - Security Operations Center, Incident Response, Forensics, Risk/Governance)

  • Have experience with Virtual infrastructure (VMware, RedHat Virtualization, Docker, OpenShift)

  • Have knowledge of Commercial/Government Cloud environment fundamentals

  • Have knowledge of routing/switching fundamentals

  • Have experience with Windows and/or Linux System (System Administrator, IAM, Architect)

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Database infrastructure

  • Have experience with Security Boundary rules and appliances (i.e. – Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)

  • Have experience with Windows and Linux environment troubleshooting

  • Have experience in a Cyber Security team environment

  • Have experience with Virtual machine environment troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with evaluating and implementing STIGs

  • Have experience or familiarity with MDA and Ballistic Missile Defense

  • Have experience using Remedy software

  • Desired certifications: ISC2, EC Council, RedHat, Microsoft/Azure, AWS, VMware, SANS Institute
