The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Solarwinds Engineer (evening shift) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Monitor Solarwinds Network Performance system.

  • Monitor Log and Event Monitor (LEM).

  • Provide Network Configurations.

  • Monitor and configure Patch Manager

  • Analyze and monitor NetFlow Analyzer.

  • Configure Server and Application Manager.

  • Configure and administer Dameware.

  • Onboard new systems, locations, customers, system tuning, patching and updating.

  • Tune existing monitors and alerting processes.

  • Provide general networking administration in Windows server administration and oversight.

  • Assess and coordinate mitigation of system security threats/risks using DoD approved tools, eg. SolarWinds, etc.

  • Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for CLAW systems.

  • Monitor baseline systems on a daily basis to ensure operation, function and cyber posture meets mission requirements.

  • Review and analyze appropriate system logs for performance and behavior anomalies, determine negative trends, and develop recommended corrective actions.

  • Coordinate actions and efforts as needed with appropriate team members, internal and external teams, customers, stakeholders and leaders to effectively execute tasks, solve problems and develop solutions with minimal to no mission Impact.

  • Understand security vulnerabilities in various SW and HW platforms and be able to recommend mitigations.

  • Maintain a high degree of proficiency in cyber applications to accomplish tasks.

  • Have other cyber duties as assigned.

This is an evening shift work position with core hours being 1500-2300 and may have to shift to overnight schedule to meet off-hour mission activities. Differential pay will be available for evening/overnight shift.

This position will be filled at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO

This position is expected to pay $79,700 - $89,700 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 2 years of general experience; Associate's degree, or higher, and 0 years of general experience

  • If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)

  • Must have 2.5 years of experience in an engineering field

  • Must have a current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have 5, or more, years of experience as a Solarwinds Administrator/Expert

  • Have any of the following professional certifications: SCP, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent experience

  • Have extensive experience with the overall Orion/Solarwinds platform
