Your Impact:

Jacobs is currently interviewing TS/SCI w/ Poly candidates for an IA Systems Administrator. The position supports our government customer in Columbia, Maryland.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provides the technical management, operation, and maintenance of specialized and general Information Assurance systems used by the Government in supporting the mission of the organization.

  • Deploys or installs hardware and software, performs troubleshooting and user assistance.

  • Maintains operating systems and configuration of computer systems and network devices.

  • Assists Government with creation of custom system environments for IA related system prototyping and development of system assessment/hardening techniques and usage of related IA software tools.

  • Manages file servers, web servers, email servers, directory servers, workstations, storage devices, network routing/switching devices, and firewalls, including physical and virtual instances of each.

  • Manages servers and control / monitor user access to devices, applications, and Storage Area Networks.

  • Adds, deletes, and or modifies user access to network services, manages account profiles, permissions, and access to resources.

  • Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs.

  • Coordinates hardware/software installations and upgrades to ensure work is properly performed in accordance with company policy.

  • Recommends resolution to complex matters of significance and coordinates the implementation of the approved course of action.

  • Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning.

  • Recommends course of action and implements as approved.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Familiarity with system services such as web hosting, directory services, email services, and database services.

  • 4 Years Experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Information Assurance/Cybersecurity may be substituted for four years of experience.

Desired Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of several of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, Cisco IOS, Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, Disk SAN, server and network hardware and media (blade servers, fiber channel, and network cabling).
