Software Engineer- TS/SCI Poly
Jacobs is seeking a Software Engineer with an active TS/SCI polygraph for a contingent position in the Reston, VA area. Duties include:
Analyze user interfaces, maintain hardware and software performance tuning, analyze workload and computer usage, maintain interfaces with outside systems, analyze down-times, analyze proposed system modifications, upgrades and new COTS
Define the problem, and develop system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs, and tests
Coordinates closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications
Develop, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions
Additional duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
Software architecture, design, coding, integration, testing, and deployment of a Web application hosted on a Linux system
Seek ways to improve the deployed product and streamline the user experience to bring speed to the application as performance and ease of use to find information are the application’s main selling point
Manage and execute the development, integration and testing on time
Understand requirements analysis and software development time estimation in an agile development environment via Sprints
Familiar with code refactoring, object-oriented programming, database queries via SQL and optimization, Ajax and web services, browser certificates for user identification and authentication, user roles and permissions, and RESTful state web query design and implementation
Knowledge of web application client side and server-side development
Current and active TS/SCI Polygraph required
Must be able to demonstrate working in an operational environment where priorities change frequently
Requires three (3) years of experience specific to skill
Education and relevant certifications may be substituted for years of experience. For example, candidates with an Associate’s degree equals 18 months of experience; Bachelor’s degree equals 3 years of experience; Master’s degree equals 5 years of experience; Doctorate equals 7 years of experience
Relevant certifications will be considered equivalent to three (months) of specialized experience
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or other closely related IT or Cyber discipline highly desired
Experience or familiarity of Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation, JSON, etc.)
The following experiences are highly desired:
Network Service Modeling experience
Network automation and network management
Cisco Network Orchestrator
Relational database development with mySQL or Oracle, Operating System Scripting in Linux and Windows
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
