Jacobs Telecommunication Technician 2 - TS/SCI w/Poly in Columbia, Maryland

Jacobs is seeking a Telecommunication Technician to join our team of passionate individuals in Columbia, Maryland. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the nation’s security and intelligence mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems.

  • Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes. Load and configure cloud servers and vendor (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) or white box routers and switches.

  • Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services.

  • Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches

  • Experience with conducting integration and system level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent networking equipment

  • Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker

  • Experience with Linux or OpenStack

  • Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication

  • Knowledge of networking services

  • Knowledge of software defined networking

Clearance Required:

  • TS/SCI w/Poly

Minimum Education:

  • HS diploma or GED

Minimum Years of Experience:

  • 14 years of experience with providing technical support for the engineering and testing of complex software and hardware systems in the communication field

Preferred:

  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent preferred

  • RHCSA preferred
