Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection, Environmental, Mechanical or related Engineering field from an accredited program

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3.0 GPA

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or BIM software

  • A previous internship related to your field of study

  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills

Essential Functions:

While this assignment will be predominantly sedentary in nature, opportunities to go to the field will be provided. As such, intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting are anticipated. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, during inspections/audits, as well as below the shoulder for same. Walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders for extended periods during field audits. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground. Potential exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise is possible but will be risk assessed and mitigation strategies to comply with OSHA will be provided, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights, with fall protection systems in conformance with OSHA, and Jacobs/site requirements provided. Professional and courteous interaction and problem solving with a cross section of construction site personnel from Jacobs construction team members, subcontractor foremen and craft, as well as owners reps to be anticipated.
