The responsibility of the Manager of Projects (MOP) is ensuringthe Jacobs’ delivery process of projects for the Conshohocken Operations andoversight of the Project Management team which currently consists of 30 Engineering Project Managers and Project Engineers.The MOP is a critical member of the Conshohocken operationsleadership team and works in partnership with Engineering, Operations, Sales,and Human Resources

  • The MOP will have direct project management responsibility for key projects and will maintain high level engagement with each project in the portfolio

  • The overarching responsibility of the MOP is to enable the department to work seamlessly with other departments to execute flawlessly, and consistently deliver projects in accordance with Jacobs’ procedures, our fiscal objectives, and our clients’ requirements

  • Project execution oversight includes administration of the project contract, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and ensuring client satisfaction

  • The MOP is also responsible to develop and maintain client relationships through repeat business and to appropriately staff and recruit project personnel

  • Ensures adherence and cultivates a culture to HSE requirements for all projects in their portfolio and aligned PMs to keep our staff, contractors, clients and adjacent personnel and property safe

  • Manages, coaches and provides skill and careerdevelopment for aligned PMs and front-line delivery management

  • Oversees talent engagement ofaligned Supports career development of Department

  • Ensures succession plans are inplace for individuals in key roles and recommends hiring and terminations ofPMs in coordination with others

  • Drives team to provideoutstanding service and solutions to Clients

  • Keeps Global and RegionalManagement and Director(s) of Programs informed of and engaged in criticalproject issues and developments

Sales and Delivery

  • The candidate will need to have significant experience in client facing situations. The successful candidate will need to interact directly with a customer, to understand the client's needs and / or to solve problems that occur on projects. The successful candidate will need to attend Executive Level meetings as well as Monthly Principles meeting with key project stakeholders.

  • Supports the development of, reviews and approves proposal/pricing, schedules and risk reserves. Engages Management, Program Director(s), legal, contracts and compliance in the review and approval process

  • Ensures that differentiating solutions and technologies are applied to pursuits and projects to win and deliver outstanding projects

  • Assists the PM and Client Account Managers (CAMs) with Client management and satisfaction leading to growth of business with Client

  • Manages performance of designers, vendors and subcontractors by utilizing the skills and knowledge of our project managers and support teams

  • Work with Regional Management, Program Director(s) and project financial team for Business Plan Forecast, ensuring that Project ETCs are forecasted accurately

  • Drives the delivery of budgeted GM for a portfolio of projects and aligned PMs. Enhances GM results through focus on change management, cash management and delivery of high quality, value added services to our clients

  • Shares best practices and lessons learned to promote continuous product and process improvement

Quality

  • Ensures compliance with all Project ExecutionGroup and Quality policies, procedures, protocols and work instructions andappropriate use of all mandated project tools

  • Reviews, approves and ensures ongoing update andmanagement of the Project Risk Register/Mitigation Plan, Project Execution Planand the Project Quality Plan

  • Conducts monthly Operational Project Reviews(OPRs) on all projects and publishes the project review report with criticalissues and actions

  • Reviews monthly accuracy of EACs and addressesvariances or issues with PMs

  • Monitors accounts receivable (AR) and unbilledrevenue and works with PMs to address issues as needed

  • Ensures adherence to the Quality Plan includingExpectation Surveys, Satisfaction Surveys, checks of deliverables and audits ofthe QC process

  • Ensures PMs work with Operational/Group/DesignLeaders for assignment of appropriate staff to projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 20 years ofProject Management experience required

  • Bachelor of Science inan Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or Architecture required.

  • A MS degree and/orsignificant technical experience is preferred

  • Significant first hand Pharmaceutical / BiotechnologicalEngineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) experience. Thecandidate will be engaged as an Executive Sponsor to various types of EPCMQVprojects.

  • Experience in EPCMQVproject execution is required

  • Strong working knowledgeof pre-design and pre-construction activities, building and/or industrialsystems/components and technology, contract administration, project deliverymethods, team building and client relationship management skills required.

  • Experience with multioffice execution
