As a Bridge Design Engineer and a vital member of our Corvallis team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. Using your experience, you’ll provide technical expertise and lead a team in completing bridge and transportation structure design and construction projects. You’ll coordinate design activities and meetings between Jacobs staff and subcontractors, perform quality reviews, prepare budgets and schedules for bridge design tasks and assist in business development activities and proposal efforts. You’ll also help train, direct and mentor CAD staff and less experienced engineers.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Oregon PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months

  • A minimum of 12 years bridge design experience with a background in steel girder bridges, prestressed concrete bridges, retaining structures and drainage structures

  • A thorough understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.

  • Proficiency with structural and bridge analysis and design software

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously

  • Working knowledge of CAD tools and Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with others

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

  • Thorough knowledge of ODOT practices and procedures

  • Task Lead/Bridge Lead experience

  • Design-Build project experience

  • Project management experience

  • Strong focus on client service

  • Business development experience

  • Strong analytical skills and career path goal as project manager or office bridge lead
