Environmental Chemist - Part-Time
The Chemist will provide technical, scientific support for investigation and remediation projects including all phases of planning, characterization, data analysis, work planning and report writing. This position should have comprehensive understanding and application of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards. Competently performs all conventional scientific assignments within a specific discipline. Works under minimal supervision, participates in setting assignment objectives; plans own task schedule to satisfy objectives; work is reviewed for adequacy on completion.
Provide technical support for various environmental remediation and monitoring projects
Plans and conducts work using independent judgement in evaluating, selecting and adapting standard scientific techniques procedures and criteria
Review procedures for compliance with industry regulations
Developing work plans, including sampling plans, and quality assurance project plans
Performing data quality assessments and writing reports of studies for other scientists and requestors
2 or more years of chemist experience
BS or MS degree in Chemistry or closely related science required
Computer literacy in software typical of discipline is preferred
Familiarity of scientific methods for collecting and analyzing scientific data preferred
Data management, data review field screening and sampling and knowledge of chemical materials use, storage & shipping requirements preferred
Technical writing ability preferred
Build and maintain successful relationships with co-workers, clients and regulatory agencies preferred
Familiarity with government and public sector projects preferred
Environmental experience highly desired
