As an Environmental Planner supporting the Water Practice based out of Dallas, Texas, you’ll use your skills and experience to support projects for routing studies, facility siting, environmental surveys, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis, and planning/permitting services.

As a member of a supportive team, you will help advance water/wastewater projects through various planning phases using your knowledge and experience in air quality, waste management, water resources, and environmental compliance regulations to conduct analyses and develop reports in compliance with state and federal regulations such as NEPA, ESA, CAA, CWA, NHPA, TAC, TCEQ and other applicable regulations. Your experience with environmental permitting and environmental analyses will be leveraged in executing permit applications and analyzing environmental data supporting the development of environmental documents and studies for various types of projects, such as linear/pipeline projects, pump stations, or treatment facility upgrades and siting.

You’ll contribute to business development including proposal preparation and management to highlight your passion for sustainable and successful projects. You’ll participate in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, developing scopes of work and budgets for the planning aspects of various water, wastewater and stormwater projects. You’ll have the opportunity to directly work with clients and work with teams across Texas and throughout the nation.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban or Regional planning, Geography, Biology, or related field

  • 6 years of experience in planning and permitting experience work

  • Understanding of and experience with public involvement and environmental compliance processes for water infrastructure projects in Texas

  • Water/Wastewater route and siting studies, TCEQ, groundwater, stormwater, and/or similar experience

  • Ability to work a hybrid work schedule

  • Exceptional writing and verbal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team internally and externally

  • Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements and Public Involvement best management practices

  • Experience interacting with clients, project managers, and project teams to communicate findings

  • Ability to manage your time and workload effectively

  • Ability to produce high quality work products that meet and exceed client expectations

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) software

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS required

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Ability to work remotely, as needed

  • Ability to occasionally travel locally to support project work

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
