As a Project Manager, you will have the chance to deliver environmental remediation projects for rail clients. You will also develop business through proposals and networking within the railroad market to grow Jacobs' presence. As you help us grow the team, you will have the opportunity to apply the right tools and systems and use your knowledge of fuel-related constituents, state of the art investigative techniques, and remediation technologies to organize and successfully deliver projects for our clients. General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the company’s prime contact with the client and is responsible for overall work progress and technical performance on the project.

  • Leads and manages the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget as stated in the contract.

  • Completes the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacobs’s Health, Safety, and Environment, quality, financial, risk management, business and policy expectations are met.

  • Works closely with project delivery leadership and other senior project manager/operations leaders who provide support and mentoring.

  • Support business development activities related to environmental remediation across the U.S., leading to the award of contracts. This would include client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, and oral presentations consistent with established business development processes.

This position is preferably located in Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis/St Paul, Dallas/Ft Worth or Austin.

Qualifications

  • BS degree, preferably in an engineering or science discipline

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, including experience in environmental consulting in a technical role

  • Proven and documented experience with remediation projects for Class I rail clients, preferably for a period longer than 5 years

  • Project management experience, preferably including management of projects of average to difficult complexity

  • Experience in account management, and in positioning for, preparing proposals, and winning environmental remediation projects for rail clients

In addition to the minimum qualifications, preferred candidates will also have:

  • 15-20 years of experience in environmental consulting

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) license or CHMM

  • Well-respected in the environmental industry as evidenced by client relationships and some visibility in professional organization(s) or industry group(s)
