Position Summary

The Advanced Planning Group (APG) offers pre-design, planning, and site design services to a variety of government, institutional, military, and corporate clients. These services include feasibility studies, visioning sessions, project development studies, design guidelines, master plans, and landscape architecture & site design.

  • Perform routine aspects of landscape architecture design under the direct guidance of a Senior Landscape Architect/Designer.

  • May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform design tasks.

  • Collect, organize, and evaluate large amounts of data.

  • Will interact with a project team and client to communicate the results of analysis and describe design concepts.

  • Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.

  • Provide support to APG staff members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, in their final three years of study, from an accredited Landscape Architecture program

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills required

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management required

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment required

  • Strong problem solving skills required

  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision required

  • Writing, graphic, and verbal presentation skills are a must, as are basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Computer graphic skills such as AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator are required

  • Experience in GIS preferred
