As an IT Project Manager Agile Scrum Master, you will contribute to department-wide Agile maturity efforts and goals and a multitude of diverse, global projects. Your background in IT will allow you to successfully interact and collaborate with cross functional leads in the IT Organization, and to effectively articulate project parameters and key performance indicators. You will be passionate about Agile and continuous improvement, invigorated by challenges and as a servant leader who can promote a growth mindset, coach teams to rise to meet exciting new projects. You will enable a highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality, with a strong desire to lead change as we continue our agile journey.

Key contributions of this role include:

  • Agile Scrum Master

  • Servant leader focused on maximizing the throughput of teams and helping them become more effective by ensuring adherence to an agile framework (scrum, Kanban, etc.) and the application of appropriate principles and practices

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and coach the teams and organization, fostering transparency, inspection, and adaption

  • Lead daily scrum, sprint review, retrospectives, and planning meetings to ensure full team engagement

  • Partner with the Product Owner to enable short and long-term sprint and release planning, and to keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution

  • Manage interdependencies between agile teams

  • Anticipate and address potential or actual impediments to team delivery (cultural barriers, logistic challenges)

  • Actively coach other leaders, peer roles and individual contributors on continual improvement, growth mindset and maturing current Agile adoption. Cultivate a team culture/environment of continuous learning and improvement

  • Act as a catalyst and leverage advanced understanding of Lean-Agile metrics (health, value, flow and quality) to help teams continually improve. Assesses the Agile maturity of the team and coaches the team to higher levels of maturity. Coaches team and managers on the Agile mindset/behavior.

  • Use deep understanding of the mechanics of the Agile framework or method to teach the specific roles, work products, and activities to team members and stakeholders and observes & provides consistent, impactful feedback for team Agile development

  • Create and foster relationships with strategic suppliers for sourcing project needs

  • Communicate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members on all facets of a project

  • Host global meetings, documenting notes and follow-up actions

  • Mentor other project members within the Project & Portfolio Management Organization.

  • Mentor other project managers in the Project & Portfolio Management organization

  • Guide global project teams through all project phases from inception to closure across a diverse enterprise

  • Interface and coordinate with other functional groups, stakeholders, and business leaders

  • Create, maintain, and own project schedules, risk logs, issue logs and actions associated with specified projects

  • Develop, manage, and report on project budgets

  • Provide weekly and monthly leadership reporting on project KPIs

  • Create and foster relationships with strategic suppliers for sourcing project needs

  • Communicate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members on all facets of a project

  • Host global meetings, documenting notes and follow-up actions

  • Coordinate implementation schedule and plan with project stakeholders

  • Manage information flow in a timely, accurate and confidential manner

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or related experience

  • Certified Scrum Master

  • Experience successfully implementing both Scrum and Kanban/Scrumban methodologies

  • Ability to leverage expertise and enthusiasm for agile methodologies and continuous improvement to energize those around you and ability to coach team and stakeholders on agile practices and ensure adherence to agile methodology

  • DevOps experience: continuous integration, continuous build, continuous delivery tools and techniques

  • Working knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures, and technical standards

  • Advanced communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

  • Ability to coach and mentor a team to maximize progress and potential

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, team building and consensus building skills

  • Proven conflict management and mediation skills.

  • An understanding of agile metrics (tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc.) to analyze and improve sprint planning

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Knowledge of business functions and operations, strategies and objectives

  • Experience working in a scaled agile framework

  • Six Sigma certification

  • PMP/PMI certification

  • Knowledge/training equivalent to advanced/second-level certifications from a reputable Lean-Agile organization (PSM II, ICAgile Professional – Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF), ICAgile Professional – Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC)).
