The Advance Planning Group (APG) offers pre-design, planning, and site design services to a variety of government, institutional, military, and corporate clients. These services include feasibility studies, visioning sessions, project development studies, design guidelines, master plans, landscape architecture and site design.
Individuals in this position will be required to:
Perform routine aspects of landscape architecture design under the direct guidance of a Senior Landscape Architect/Designer.
May use computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform design tasks.
Collect, organize, and evaluate large amounts of data.
Interact with a project team and client to communicate the results of analysis and describe design concepts.
Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations.
Provide support to APG staff members as needed.
Planning support in Pre-design and Master Planning
Bachelor’s or Master’s from an accredited Landscape Architecture program is required
Required 3-6 years landscape architecture experience
Registration as a landscape architect or ability to obtain within 3 years is required
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills required
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management required
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment required
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision required
Writing, graphic, and verbal presentation skills are required, as are basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Computer graphic skills such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator are required
Experience in GIS
Must be willing to travel on an as needed basis with the Potential for international Travel
Master in Urban Planning or Planning degree a plus
