Jacobs Mid-Level Data Scientist - Remote in Dallas, Texas

Jacobs is actively seeking a skilled Mid-Level Data Scientist to join our Advisory Solutions Group, specifically within the Data Analytics Practice focusing on Federal clients. This role is integral to a specialized team that delivers advanced AI-driven analytical solutions to a diverse array of Federal organizations, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and management effectiveness. The Mid-Level Data Scientist will engage in various activities, including developing machine learning models, designing AI algorithms, creating semantic search solutions, training models, and generating insightful visualizations and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement machine learning models and AI algorithms to solve complex problems.

  • Design and optimize database architectures to support AI applications.

  • Create and maintain semantic search solutions to improve data retrieval and user experience.

  • Train and fine-tune machine learning models to ensure high performance and accuracy.

  • Create and maintain interactive decision-support systems tailored to client needs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to provide strategic AI-driven insights and solutions.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and data science to continuously improve our practices.

  • Must be a United States Citizen, as this role involves government-facing work. Visa sponsorship is not available.

  • At least 3 years of experience in AI, data science, or a related field, including academic projects or internships specifically focusing on AI and data analytics.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.

  • Proficiency with Python, R, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience integrating external AI models, such as those from OpenAI, Mixtral, LLaMA, and other platforms like Azure Machine Learning, Amazon SageMaker, or Vertex AI.

  • Knowledge of semantic search implementation for enhanced data retrieval and user experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time CONUS and OCONUS, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including model deployment, data integration, or workflow automation.
