Jacobs Engineering Group – North Texas Transportation Group is seeking to hire a Transportation Drainage Design EIT with 1 to 4 years of experience in our Dallas, TX office to support our roadway and bridge projects throughout Texas. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. Typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage analysis and design, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation and rail projects.
Conducts drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various transportation public agencies such as TxDOT and DART.
Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Assist in the preparation of projects specific drainage reports and technical memorandum.
Serves as a liaison between the Dallas Transportation Drainage Lead, Transportation Project Manager(s) and other project(s) staff members.
Performs other duties assigned by the Dallas Transportation Drainage Discipline Lead and the NTX Roadway Group Lead as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required from a U.S. ABET accredited school or equivalent.
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited school is preferred but not required.
Registration as Engineer-In-Training (EIT) is required.
minimum 1 years of experience in roadway, drainage design, and/or water resources is required.
Four years of experience is preferred
Experience in utilizing Microstation, Geopak Drainage, OpenRoads, and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is preferred.
Experience in designing highway drainage systems is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines.
