The Vice President, Investor Relations will be responsible for leading Jacobs strategic and proactive IR function. This individual will lead outward facing engagement with the marketplace and investors, plus provide insight and influence throughout the organization. The VP Investor Relations will anticipate and strategically address the needs and actions of the market and stay in front of messaging. This role will collaborate cross-functionally and partner with leaders across lines of business, finance, legal, operations and marketing teams. The VP Investor Relations will have oversight for the company-wide IR function and will need to be extremely investor and market savvy. This role will have responsibility for helping to craft and manage the company’s story to the external markets, proactively handling the company’s needs around communication of the company’s strategy, both internal and external quarterly releases, shareholder road shows, and sophisticated investor targeting and penetration.

This position reports directly to the CFO and will be based at Jacobs world headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

Here's what you will be doing:

  • Drive appropriate interaction and communication with all existing and potential shareholders.

  • Continuously monitor shareholder base and develop strategic targeting initiatives to ensure an optimized ownership portfolio.

  • Develop and manage the company’s messaging and participation on quarterly earnings calls, investment conference calls and in-house meetings, road shows, analyst days and one-on-one meetings.

  • Design, articulate, and implement the company’s overall Investor Relations strategy, including creation/modification of the company’s financial communications story, the external and internal messaging, scheduling of events (e.g., conferences, investor/ shareholders days, etc.), ensuring all communications are integrated and consistent.

  • Lead strategic communications development such as preparing presentation decks and creating management Q&A’s and conference call scripts. Additionally, contribute to the creation of the annual report and earnings releases.

  • Liaise with senior leadership and other business managers to direct the positioning of the company’s financial reporting messages, including the annual report, quarterly filings, and other shareholder materials.

  • Provide external audiences with an accurate and timely view of the company’s performance and prospects.

  • Provide senior executives and board members at the company with accurate and timely updates of the company’s positioning with analysts and key shareholders.

  • Constantly gather intelligence and information in the marketplace, and inform, educate, and coach the company’s senior leadership regarding the near-term and long-term dynamics of the investment and trading marketplaces, providing insight on the potential impact of these market forces on the company’s business success.

  • Advise management on the potential impact of business initiatives on the market and shareholders, and how to communicate most effectively these to the investment community.

  • Present and articulate the investor point of view to the executive team and make recommendations as necessary and appropriate.

  • Lead and manage the Investor Relations portion of the company website.

  • Collaborate engagement with internal stakeholders to help educate, learn the business, create an internal business network, and drive understanding of value creation.

  • Be a strategic advisor to ELT (CEO and CFO specifically) to help enhance strategy and trust within investor community.

  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the company in establishing the strategy development, operating plan, budget, and the detailed execution of the IR operating plan.

  • Closely coordinate with internal and/or external public relations and communications professionals to support efficient and effective dissemination of the Company’s strategy and message.

  • Measure the effectiveness of the company’s investor relations program through the quality and accuracy of external analyst research and earnings estimates, increasing analyst coverage, the addition of new institutional owners, and growth in value relative to industry peers and relative to the market in general.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Economics. MBA, CFA, or CPA is preferred

  • Experience in a Corporate Investor Relations role.

  • An overall holistic financial skill set developed through a career in investor relations FP&A, divisional finance, and/or corporate finance.

  • Experience in a progressive and sophisticated global organization, where investor relations is established as a key strategic partner to the business.

  • Strong financial acumen: ability to understand and interpret all of the company’s key financial statements and a clear and thorough understanding of financial modeling used by investment professionals to value the organization’s performance.

  • Strong communication skills and presentation abilities, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to large groups and very senior levels of management and members of the board of directors.

  • Passionate about the market and want to continuously enhance their knowledge of investors, their changing dynamics and issues they are facing

Ideally you will also have:

  • Technical expertise, deep industry knowledge and a demonstrated commitment to developing forward-thinking IR strategy across the entire enterprise in a rapidly changing marketplace.

  • Positive, energetic, roll-up-the-sleeves self-starter mentality with deep financial, business and people management skills. This individual will have proven themselves as a positive influencer within an large organization, able to brings teams along and inspire action through the establishment of common goals.

  • Ability to influence, drive and lead change and to effectively promote the mission and strategic initiatives while building consensus across the business.

  • A track record of fostering trusting relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within an organization.

  • Personal presence and confidence in interacting with the media, community members, industry influencers, and local leadership.
