We are looking for a dedicated Land a dedicated Field Land Survey Field Technician to grow with our collaborative team and work on a variety of land development projects.

Based in Colorado, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a field crew to work on a vast array of large infrastructure projects while generate and edit Digital Terrain Models (DTM); collecting GPS and conventional data, mobile LiDAR data, aerial LiDAR and imagery as well as performing control and boundary surveys. processing; write property descriptions; perform record searches, title commitments, and record document review.

We'll Also Ask you to:

  • Be a self-starter who can work independently and who can adapt to working in a team setting.

  • Work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topography, laser scanning and other tasks on a one or two-person crew.

  • Collect survey data using GNSS receivers, scanners, total stations, levels, and survey controllers.

  • Perform field survey tasks in accordance with local, state and national regulations.

  • Work without immediate supervision and make technical and procedural decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.

  • Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data for office processing.

  • Plan daily activities to meet productivity goals.

  • Communicate with the crew and office staff about all aspects of the project.

  • Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports and field change orders.

  • Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain.

  • Perform some office duties, including data download and reduction, field note reduction, calculations, processing and quality control checksreviews.

  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team and communicate with clients, subconsultants, site supervisors and contractors.

  • Adheres to company policies and service line procedures.

  • Follow safety protocols.

  • Perform equipment inventory and adjustments and keep current with vehicle maintenance.

  • Participate in department and field crew training.

  • Represent Jacobs in the field and embody awith a professional image at all times.

  • Preserve and enhance the Jacobs brand through job knowledge and strategic field management.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • 2 years’ experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief or Survey Technician

  • Experience with Trimble survey equipment and software

  • Experience with CDOT TMOSS feature coding

  • CST, LSI or PLS certification

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in applicable field

  • Experience with laser scanning, LiDAR, CAD, GIS, photogrammetry, remote sensing, subsurface utilities, or ROW acquisition preferred but not required

Minimum requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proven ability to complete all technical aspects of a field surveying task

  • Ability to work long hours and carry heavy loads if needed

  • Reputation as a trusted and respected member of the surveying community

  • Good social and communication skills

  • Able to travel up to 50%at least 25% of the time

  • Ability to pass drug screen and background checks

Typical salary range for this position is $25.14/hour - $33.39/hour and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
