We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems (I&CS) Design Engineer to support our California Region. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ water challenges locally and worldwide.

You’ll get to work with our world-class Instrumentation and Control Systems team dedicated to protecting the most valuable asset in the world, water. You’ll get to work on projects on every aspect from design through onsite startup work. You will enjoy having the deepest technical resources in the industry to support you, access to international work, Design-Build projects, and conference participation opportunities too.

Using your experience, you'll lead the development of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), control narratives, specifications, network drawings, panel drawings, and select instrumentation. You’ll coordinate with other engineering disciplines for a cohesive design. You’ll also contribute to the development and growth of people (e.g. mentoring junior engineers) both domestically and globally. You’ll be able to develop control system software in Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces and perform facility startups and commissioning activities. As well, you will be able to review constructions submittals, conduct site evaluations, make recommendations for control system upgrades, and communicate with clients and management.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college

• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or open to getting one

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in PLC, DCS, or HMI programming, development of control system architecture, and SCADA systems

• I&C Systems Integration design experience

• Ability to mentor, train, and delegate work to others domestically and abroad

• Successful experience with working and managing remote domestic and international staff, and ability to work outside normal work hours at times to coordinate with global team members

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Development of Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID’s) experience

• Water infrastructure Instrumentation & Controls Systems design experience

Typical salary range for this position is $121,900 to $190,450, and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
