About the opportunity:
We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Senior Radwaste Disposal Modeller to join the Geology, Surface Processes and Environmental Change Studies Team within the Radioactive Waste Management and Disposal business.
There will be significant expectations over the next thirty years concerning the siting of facilities for geological disposal as well as a continuation of geological characterisation and modelling at existing licensed sites. This role would support our strategic positioning the Radioactive Integrated Waste Management area in the UK.
This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your sound technical skills whilst working in an engaging and collaborative team. You will integrate various geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical and geophysical datasets to provide technical solutions for clients whilst mentoring and providing project management support to the Geology, Surface Processes and Environmental Change Studies team. As a result, we are looking for people who have the passion and drive to be involved with major radioactive waste management and nuclear decommissioning projects with strong adaptability, prioritisation and teamworking skills, and a willingness to share your knowledge along the way.

Geological consultancy services (expertise with a specific terrane type would be an added advantage),
Expertise with the scoping, delivery and interpretation of geophysics as a site characterisation tool in either a marine or onshore environment. A strong skillset in Petrel or IHS Kingdom Suite is a requirement,
Input to site characterisation investigation design and data management. Advise on identifying and managing uncertainty and practical constraints in investigation design and site characterisation data management,
Development of site and regional scale observational and analytical 3D ground models integrating intrusive data, geophysical data (airborne, surface, marine and down-hole), remote sensing data (radar, optical, false colour etc) and other data sources (geological mapping, geomorphological mapping, detailed sedimentological studies).
An understanding of the UK Radioactive Integrated Waste Management sector.
Project management responsibilities to include project budgeting, project team data integration, timeline oversight and bid document preparation,
Experience of collaboration with researchers from industry and academic sectors, to advance the integrated technical solutions for nuclear waste management,
Engineering geology advice on the interaction of ground conditions/hazards and built structures.
Geomorphological consultancy services to advise on earth surface processes and landforms and associated superficial deposits in a range of climates and terrains,
Consultancy on design of GIS database architecture to assist clients with existing large site characterisation datasets to better utilise and add value to these assets.
