As a Director / Associate, you will have people management responsibilities and willbe the lead on a diverse range of projects. Responsibilities will include:
A key leadership role, contributing tothe growth and development of the highway team adding value to the establishednational and international capability;
Leading teams in the delivery ofplanning and detailed design of Highway schemes, including giving expertwitness testimony at planning stage.
Leading Design & Build teams atboth tender and detailed design stages
Identifying and leading on added value,sustainable engineering and Lean initiatives relating to Highways;
Providing senior direction to designengineers, graduates and technicians;
Liaison with clients, contractors andthird parties;
Interfacing with other Jacobsdisciplines and offices such as Highway Structures, Technology, Geotechnical,Rail, Transport Planning, Utilities and Environmental;
Resolving technical and commercial issuesas they occur and monitoring progress in your areas of responsibility;
Managing project delivery includingfinancial management and monitoring;
People/team management and local recruitment;
Client Relationship Management at alllevels in client organisations.
A Bachelors or Masters degree in CivilEngineering;
Chartered Member of Engineer’s Irelandor equivalent;
A leading approach to health and safetyin all things
Experience in the highways sectorincluding the delivery of projects in accordance with TII PMGs;
Experience in the delivery of a majorhighway scheme
Experience of liaising/negotiating withclient representatives and staff at a senior level;
Thorough understanding and practicalapplication of the TII Standards;
Good working knowledge of differentcontract types and procurement options including but not limited to GCCC;
Able to produce well-presented andtechnically accurate reports;
Workload and resource managementskills;
Capability to oversee tasks and costsand deliver programmed work on time and under budget including adoption of EVAtechniques;
Good IT and presentation skills;
Experience of motivating and drivingdelivery teams;
Confident with proven interpersonal andcommunication skills;
Capable of managing a challengingworkload subject to change at short notice;
Experience of managingmulti-disciplined projects being delivered by teams at various geographicallocations both in Ireland and overseas;
Strong evidence of ContinuedProfessional Development.
Experience as an expert witness givingtestimony at planning hearings, such as Oral Hearings
Experience and knowledge in the use ofBIM for electronic storage and use of data
Experience of ECI or Design and Buildprojects;
Health and Safety training in theinfrastructure sector
