Jacobs Construction Manager in Dublin, Ireland

Your Impact:

With more than 55,000 people in 40+ countries, working at Jacobs offers an exciting range of opportunities to develop your career within a supportive and diverse team who always strive to do the right thing for our people, clients and communities.

People are Jacobs’ greatest asset, and we offer a competitive package to retain and attract the best talent.

Work-life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs. We’re happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours, patterns and locations to suit you and our business.

About the Opportunity

As a part of the Jacobs Construction Advisory team, you will support the successful delivery of projects by providing constructability expertise, primarily during outline design and consent phases. You will provide expertise to help create the construction strategy, phasing, methodology and programme, taking account of and integrating emerging environmental and logistical constraints and construction best practice. You will be required to provide technical input mainly during pre-construction, including:

  • Temporary works requirements

  • Lifting and plant solutions

  • Earthworks and mass haulage

  • Traffic management

  • Construction logistics

  • CDM and Principal Designer, Principal Contractor obligations, or other local regulatory responsibilities

Responsibilities typically entail producing the constructability input for specific projects including drafting option assessments, assessing construction risks with proposed mitigations and provision of best practise advice. Key to the role is informing the design and enabling change in the permanent solution to create a more buildable, more reliable, safer solution. You will utilise your health, safety and environmental knowledge to identify risks in these areas, proactively lead projects in navigating these considerations, and advise on appropriate mitigation options.

This role would suit someone looking to transition into professional services from a main contractor. The role offers hybrid flexible working, with offices throughout the UK and Ireland we are also happy to consider candidates with other location preferences.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A degree or diploma in engineering or construction (candidates without a relevant qualification but with demonstratable construction knowledge and experience will also be considered)

  • A demonstrable track record of on-site experience directly delivering a broad range of multi-sector construction or engineering projects.

  • The ability to review design proposals and assess the likely impact and risks associated with constructing the works and work towards mitigating these where practical.

  • Relevant health, safety and environment experience relating to the construction industry.

  • Ability to draft credible, deliverable construction sequences and schedules
