Our Infrastructure teams at Jacobs in Dublin, Cork and Belfast, boasts an extensive portfolio working on high profile, challenging projects, providing multidisciplinary solutions to water, wastewater, highways, transport, environment, waste and energy clients. From feasibility studies and planning, to design, construction management and operations and maintenance, we bring together the talent and expertise necessary to deliver success.
Our well-established Ireland Utilities team delivers projects in Energy, Water, Wastewater and Flood Management for clients across Ireland and the UK. We are growing to meet our clients’ needs and are actively recruiting at various levels.
We currently have opportunities for a Senior Electrical Engineer with high voltage experience to join our expanding Utilities team. Working on projects throughout Ireland, with possible travel to the UK, your responsibilities may include:
Leading or undertaking project tasks and engineering design on transmission and distribution projects at various stage in the project life cycle, while ensuring technical excellence and best practice to specifications
Working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets to exceed our client’s expectations
Ensuring project financial and schedule performance
Driving health and safety in all aspects of our projects
Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, contracting engineers, subcontractors, sub-consultants and clients
Supporting tendering procedures and putting together proposals.
Providing guidance and support to less experienced graduate engineers or technicians
Minimum of an accredited Honours Electrical Engineering Degree (NFQ Level 8)
Proven experience in the design and management of transmission projects in particular 110 kV up to 400 kV
Proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with client and other project team members
Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Knowledge and experience of IEC, EN, BS standards
Experience undertaking technical studies including, but not limited to lightning protection, earthing, short circuit
Working knowledge of contract types and procurement options.
Experience with construction management and/or site supervision of a contractor during construction
