We work extensively with high-profile clients including the National Transport Authority (NTA), Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Local Authorities throughout Ireland. About you

We are looking for Senior Transport Planners to join our growing team located in Dublin, Cork and Belfast. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate technical experience, or design experience in assessing the feasibility of various forms of transport infrastructure assets e.g., like walking, cycling, buses, rail and light rail through different appraisal stages for successfully attracting funding through a range of local and national sources.

In addition, we are looking, for people with knowledge of, and/or in the application of the Common Appraisal Framework (CAF), Project Appraisal Guidelines (PAG), The Public Spending Code, and other complementary appraisal guidance to inform feasibility and funding submissions for soft and hard infrastructure projects of varied scales.

You will become an integral part of a respected and ambitious team, and the role will provide every opportunity for you to make your mark and influence the continuing sustainable growth of Jacobs in Ireland and the UK. You will have the support of a line manager and our experts to guide your progress and will have on opportunity to share your skills and knowledge by training and supporting our junior staff. You will also be given the ability to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities.

Occasional travel within Ireland, to the UK and/or overseas may be required.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Degree qualifications – Level 8 or equivalent in a relevant transportation planning/ engineering / economics / maths and/or other discipline;

  • Ability to work both as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems;

  • Experience working on the feasibility and option selection stages of transport projects

  • A creative, solution-oriented individual, with a strong technical background

  • Familiarity with GIS systems

  • Some experience working on transport models or utilising the outputs of modelled scenarios for road traffic and/or public transport studies with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high-profile transport projects;

  • Highly numerate, with proven analytical skills for transport appraisal market;

  • Proficient in MS Excel and other data analysis tools for the transport appraisal;

  • Robust written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely;

  • Desire to collaborate and innovate with many different teams;

  • Ability to manage diverse workloads, assist with new business opportunities and embrace emerging technologies, product solutions and the future evolution of the industry.
