The current Jacobs Framework supports the client in the following Discipline Areas:

  • Project Management

  • Project Engineering

  • Quality Management & Engineering

  • HSE Management & Engineering

The client owns and operates 8 nuclear, 2 coal and 1 gas-fired power stations, plus gas storage facilities, renewable assets and two administration offices. The coming together of the coal, gas and renewable assets with nuclear stations makes it the largest electricity supplier by volume and the biggest generator of low carbon electricity in Britain, providing 25% of the UK’s total electricity.

Ranging from concept definition to statutory outage implementation.

Projects - Working with projects within the 2018 MTP but also providing support to the emerging 2019 & 2020 MTP

  • Directing & leading all the activities associated with the full lifecycle of the project within the programme – project values – up to £10M

  • Successful project delivery from concept design to handover & closure stages in accordance with safety, cost, scope, quality & time in line with the overall project schedule, meeting all business & technical requirements

  • Develop & implement the project execution plan for the delivery of the project

  • Define the work scope to be delivered & the interfaces to the other elements of the programme

  • Track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget & provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters

  • Identify risks & facilitate the resolution of all risks raised

  • Anticipate, manage & resolve issues

  • Fulfil all the contract contractual requirements

  • Establish & maintain effective working relationships with all project team members, stakeholders & advisory services

Reports to: Projects Portfolio Manager (PPM)

Note3: May be asked to work unsociable hours during Station Outage and provide Weekend / Bank Holiday cover

Note4: Expected to attend site during normal working hours Monday to Friday

BPSS or SC level security clearance (must be willing to go through clearance process if no clearance held at time of application, be capable of obtaining a full Security Clearance).



  • Typically degree educated ideally in engineering, or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline

  • Required to have the appropriate level of knowledge and experience in Project Management

  • Demonstrable experience and use of office IT packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and industry planning tools

  • Proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools

  • Proficient in the use of Earned Value tools

  • Familiar with HSE and COM legislation

  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-discipline projects and environments

  • Management of an integrated project team including staff, agency and assigned functional support

  • Evidence of working within environments with a high quality and safety standards/culture

  • Good communications skills

  • Good interpersonal skills, including questioning for clarification and establishing of facts, observation and active listening

  • Self-motivated & able to work on own initiative

Demonstrates success in managing and developing:-

  • Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery

  • Large multi-discipline projects

  • Large complex multidiscipline contracts and the tender review process

  • Control of costs and Change

  • Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations

  • Front end design and development of solutions

  • The design/construction interface to ensure a smooth transition/handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface

  • The construction I commissioning interface to ensure a smooth transition/handover and how to address the issues which occur at this interface

  • Post holder will be required to support the drive of value improvement initiatives


  • APM Level D or equivalent

  • Nuclear experience, working within a regulated, licenced environment

  • Have a working knowledge of EDF Investment Delivery
