About the opportunity:

Following the recent reorganisation of our Growth & Sales EMEA team, we are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Sector Growth Director, Strategic Consulting.

We are seeking a senior professional with a curiosity for identifying and developing opportunities with existing and new clients, who will look ahead to achieve growth in line with the Strategic Consulting business strategy.

The Sector Growth Director, Strategic Consulting will report into Kate Kenny, Head of Growth and Sales UK&I, with a dotted line into Grant Harrison, Head of Sector, Strategic Consulting, Europe. The Sector Growth Director’s mission will be to work collaboratively and with the Strategic Consulting leadership team to develop the Strategic Consulting growth strategy for UK, Ireland and Continental Europe across all markets. This will include identifying and developing opportunities and taking the lead on strategic marketing and sales activities. You will work in partnership with our Market Directors and Strategic Consulting’s Market Leads, utilising your leadership skills to challenge our client and project portfolios and ensure alignment with our two strategic objectives: expanding our core business and creating a business of the future.

As an experienced and collaborative leader, you will motivate your team to learn and explore creative options, challenging them to look for new ideas and innovative ways of delivering for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of our Strategic Consulting business, and will sit on the Europe leadership team.

Role Responsibilities:

The Sector Growth Director, Strategic Consulting, will work at a senior level with the following responsibilities:

  • Champion co-creation and maintenance of the Strategic Consulting business strategy for the Europe region, working in union with other business leaders to maximise Market opportunity

  • Establish and maintain a network of key client relationships, promoting the skills, capabilities and market offering of Strategic Consulting

  • Within the context of the overall Europe Strategy, work in partnership with the Strategic Consulting leadership team to set a long-term strategic growth agenda for Strategic Consulting, and be accountable for implementation

  • Embed Strategic Consulting strategy across P&PS market sector strategies;

  • Developing and delivering plans for growth in identified 'Emerging' markets;

  • Responsible and accountable to deliver the GM bookings for Strategic Consulting

  • Visible internal guidance of the strategic growth agenda and the cultural change required to deliver it successfully with all staff

  • Represent the ‘whole’ of Jacobs during every client engagement to achieve cross market growth

  • Embed a lessons learned process to drive continual improvement

  • Support development of commercial strategies and procurement models

  • Lead strategic pursuits and bids

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies (working with corporate functions) to include media, events, dinners, awards etc.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A senior business development professional with extensive experience in the global professional services sector (including management consulting).

  • The ability to work in a cross-sector/multi-disciplinary environment, including ability to develop value propositions, client relationship management and pursuits direction.

  • Proven track record of delivering new business and operating unit growth in line with business strategy, preferably within an infrastructure environment, although not essential.

  • Customer Focus – Track record of building and cultivating partnerships with an extensive client network; creating new relationships, whilst strengthening existing ones

  • Situational Adaptability - Demonstrates ability to adapt to the needs of clients and or the business to deliver great business solutions.

  • Strategic Mindset – Ability to formulate a clear strategy to help the company respond to change and shape the future, mapping the steps that will clearly accelerate the organisation toward its strategic goals

  • Resilience – Demonstrates personal ownership and responsibility when confronted or challenged and is viewed as a source of confidence in high-stress situations

  • Drives vision & purpose – Instils and sustains energy for what is possible and encourages others to address challenges in new and better ways.

  • Cultivates Innovation - Builds excitement in others to learn and explore creative options, challenging them to look for new ideas and innovative ways of delivering.

  • A Global Mindset and demonstrated ability to work across cultures and remotely with our Global Integrated Delivery teams. Willingness to travel, principally across the UK and Ireland but may require travel to Europe.
