As an Intermediate Biologist/Environmental Planner based out of Fort. St. John, British Columbia this position will be a remote position. You’ll have the chance to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to contribute to the environmental planning and permitting and efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects as providing technical support for the duration of construction of those projects. On projects, you’ll have the opportunity to support the execution of the work including field data collection efforts, as well as assist with the development of methodology, technical reports, and regulatory applications. Field work will include travelling to remote sites through variable conditions and assessing both the access route and site for potential environmental impacts to construction; including assessing any water bodies in the vicinity, ability to classify watercourses, wetlands, and lakes in BC. Here’s What You’ll Need:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in environmental field (preference given to fish or aquatic-related studies) with a minimum of 3 years of directly relevant experience conducting and managing environmental field studies studies (such as fish and fish habitat assessment and water quality monitoring)

• Previous experience conducting environmental field work, leading and/or managing crews in remote settings;

• Working knowledge of the Federal Fisheries Act, BC Oil and Gas Activities Act and the BC Water Sustainability Act and other relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation in western Canada;

• Excellent technical writing skills and experience providing technical review and edits as required;

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships;

• Relevant oil and gas and regulatory experience;

• Hold or be eligible for Professional Designation under the BC College of Applied Biology;

• Must have driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

• Certifications and experience with the operation of all-terrain vehicles

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Previous consulting experience;

• Experience working with a diverse range of industrial clients;

• Strong time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines;

• Experience in client liaison and business development; and

• Positive attitude, self-motivated with strong initiative.
