As an Midlevel Environmental Data Management (EDM) Specialist you will have the chance to lead the development and implementation of data management solution services for industrial and government clients. Working with other members of our team, you’ll serve as a key team member, leading and supporting multi-discipline teams of client and consulting staff in developing enterprise environmental information solutions. Environmental Data Management Specialists:

  • Demonstrate project execution success on environmental database-related projects for industrial and governmental clients including implementation of enterprise level environmental data management systems, development and execution of data management plans, and enabling application and adoption of technology tools by clients and project team members.

  • Possess experience with multiple phases of software implementation (i.e., design, data discovery, configuration, training, user acceptance testing, deployment or sustainment)

  • Demonstrate configuration experience with one or more off the shelf EHS software packages

  • Are fluent with common database, programming, and reporting platforms

  • Work closely with GIS practitioners to provide integrated solutions for clients

  • Possess strong business acumen that is applied in all aspects of project execution and client interactions

  • Interact frequently with existing clients while building new relationships; building networks with client organizations; participating in technical seminars and conferences including delivery of technical presentations

  • Develop internal relationships to support the overall growth and success of Jacobs' EDM practice

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Information Management, or related field.

  • 5 years of experience with environmental software implementations in a consulting/industrial environment. Related experience in chemistry, analytical data validation, groundwater modeling, or GIS a plus.

  • Experience with one or more off-the-shelf EHS software package(s) (EQuIS, ESDat, Enfos, Enablon, Intelex, ESRI)

  • Proficiency with database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript or similar).
