As the senior water resources engineer/project manager in Englewood, CO you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of water resources and supply planning projects.. Working with other members of the team, you will assist in developing strategies to grow the Jacobs water infrastructure and supply planning business lines both in Colorado and regionally. During your time with us you will also mentor junior water resources engineers and take a lead in the pursuit of new water resources projects.

The position may focus on (but not be limited to) thefollowing types of water resources planning projects:

  • Municipal and agricultural demand forecastingand conservation planning

  • Environmental and recreation water needs

  • Surface water and groundwater hydrology

  • Numerical modeling of raw and treated watersystems to support water resources management decisions

  • Municipal water systems planning and costestimating

  • River basin planning

  • Watershed protection

  • Environmental Impact Statement materialdevelopment, and other general permitting strategy development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering (orsimilar field of study)

  • 10 years of applicable work experience

  • Registered Professional Engineer

  • Broad experience interacting with the Colorado regulatory,municipal and agricultural water resources community

  • Basic understanding of Colorado Water RightsAdministration, and regional Western U.S. water management systems

  • General knowledge of methods used for costestimating of water Infrastructure

  • Basic understanding of engineering economics

  • Strong technical writing and communicationskills

  • Project management experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Project management professional certification

  • Master’s in Water Resources Engineering (orsimilar field of study)

  • Basic understanding of best practices forevaluating potential impacts of climate change on water demands and supplies

  • Infrastructure Master Planning and CapitalPlanning Experience

  • Knowledge of typical water resources planningsoftware modeling packages Excel with VBA, GoldSim, RiverWare, ModSim, WEAP (orsimilar)

  • Data analysis and visualization techniques
