Jacobs is seeking a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Construction Manager to join our Federal Projects team. In this role, you'll join our collaborative Water and Wastewater Utility Program team to support Federal Projects in Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Irwin, CA. You will oversee concurrent execution of multiple medium-sized Capital Improvement Projects, supervise the construction activities undertaken by contractors to ensure compliance with schedule, technical specifications, and quality and costs as stated in the contract documents.

Also, as part of the project team you will:

  • Manage and coordinate activities of multiple contractors engaged in construction of new and repair and replacement of existing water distribution, sewer collection, and water and wastewater treatment system components

  • Serve as the liaison between contractor, designers, inspectors and other stakeholders of the project to facilitate communication, decision making and problem solving

  • Ensure timely delivery of construction projects and components within budget in accordance with approved construction and engineering specifications, policies, practices, and quality standards

  • Ensure Adherences to Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management programs in accordance with company/program policies, standards, guides, and contractual commitments

  • Conduct day-to-day construction management activities including but not limited to review and approval of payment applications, review and negotiate change orders, conduct coordination meetings, ensure accurate and timely reporting, perform schedule and cost control, and manage phased acceptance of work products.

  • Oversee and provide guidance and assistance to construction inspection staff; personally conduct construction inspection activities if needed.

  • Ensure thorough inspection of construction material, workmanship, documentation, and practices to ensure they meet technical specifications and contractual requirements

  • Ensure thorough and accurate daily record of activities, progress, and issues

  • Help investigate, document, and report existing site conditions to facilitate project execution

  • Conduct constructability review and provide feedback to the engineering team during project design phase.

  • Communicate effectively relevant project information to geographically dispersed project teams

  • Travel as needed to perform these duties, depending on home location.

*This is a hybrid position working from home and onsite and will support the Federal projects in both Fort Campbell, KY and Fort Irwin, CA.

The base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Ten years of experience managing civil construction projects

  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints and specifications

  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, verbally in-person, over teleconference, and in writing.

  • Knowledgeable in Earned Value Management

  • Knowledgeable in OHSA safety regulations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Physical ability to walk construction sites and work outdoors under varying weather conditions

  • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or technology related field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification

  • Experience with municipal water and wastewater construction or operation

  • Previous experience with Federal funded projects
