Computer Operator II


Jacobs Technology is seeking Computer Operator II to support the Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) contract in Fort Huachuca, AZ.

Ability to processes scheduled routines that present few difficult operating problems. Familiar with responding to computer output instructions or error conditions, applying standard operating or corrective procedure, referring problems that do not respond to pre-planned procedure, and serving as an assistant operator, working under general supervision.

Individual will join the EPG Service Desk to provide end user desktop support to on-site and remote personnel. Technician will provide tier I to tier II troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve user requests through an internal ticketing system and by phone. Basic to intermediate Windows 10 administration knowledge to include Active Directory Users and Computers, DHCP, Microsoft Management Console, Remote Support applications and others. Proficient troubleshooting skills for Microsoft Office Suite. Software and hardware troubleshooting skills.

Basic knowledge of networking concepts to assist other teams with physical and logical connectivity issues. Applicant will provide Video Teleconferencing Support to setup meetings and standby support to promptly resolve technical issues that arise during a call. Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Current CompTIA Security or A Certification.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to empathize and professionally troubleshoot customer issues.

Current/valid driver's license.

Current/active Secret security Clearance.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates. Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located in Ft. Huachuca, AZ.

Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Equipment and Machines

Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Must have the ability to visually see objects close in on a small tablet/laptop computers or "smart" phones.

Must be proficient and able to type information, on a virtual keyboard, on a computer tablet or laptop.


Regular hours will be between Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm. This is a 9/80 work schedule allowing for every other Friday off. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.

Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others.

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.

Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects.

When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion. Must pass drug testing.
