Your Impact:

Jacobs is hiring a Network Designer/Architect 2 to support a program in Ft Meade, MD. This program will enable the Government to obtain subject matter expertise and highly technical assistance in building and maintaining prototype and niche analytics and tools; this contract will also enable the Government to maintain and document these prototypes and niche developmental efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Actively manage enterprise computer systems and networks, analyzing technical issues, and developing and implementing corrective actions.

• Observe and interpret visual outputs indicating the operating status of systems and network components for designated computer network infrastructure.

• Translate user requests into technical diagnoses, then apply diagnoses to develop technical solutions to meet user needs.

• Develop strategies to migrate existing customers to new architecture/technology with minimal impact.

• Evaluate new technologies or equipment that can be added to Agency standard solutions.

Here’s what you’ll need :

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field plus 5-years of relevant experience, Master's degree plus 3-years of relevant experience, Associate's degree plus 7-years of relevant experience or High School diploma/GED plus 8-years of relevant experience.

• Relevant experience must be in computer or information systems design/development, programming, information/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance and/or systems engineering. Additionally, must have experience in network or system administration.

• Strong Linux experience

• Experience in systems/network administration, application administration, and/or information technology support or management.

• Experience supporting hardware installation, such as servers and network infrastructure.

• Experience setting up storage such as network‐attached storage.

• Experience implementing security best practices to include PKI certificate generation, deployment, and maintenance.

• Knowledge of Unix shell scripting languages like Bash, Bourne, or C

Preferred:

• Experience deploying and maintaining nginx

• Familiarity with Docker and RedHat Satellite

• Familiarity with cloud computing environments like AWS

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products like Terraform, SALT and Ansible as well as system monitoring platforms like Prometheus and Grafana

• Experience with SELinix and FIPS
