Job Description

Jacobs is seeking a full time Software Developer 1. Under governmental direction, provide software and systems engineering tasks for the requirements, design, implementation, integration, and support of all software and associated documentation for new, upgraded, and existing PEX capabilities. Using an Agile software engineering approach, specific functional requirements are fluid throughout the life cycle of the project. The PEX program is conducted in accordance with Agile principles, one of which states: “welcome changing requirements, even late in the development.” Through the iterative process of requirements and product definition embodied in the Agile approach, capabilities may be reduced and new capabilities added to the PEX system over the course of the period of performance.

PEX has an immediate opening for a Front-End Developer (Angular/HTML5) who will both design and implement cohesive UI elements within a robust web application based on requirements. This position will work within a small team of front end and middle layer developers in an Agile development environment.

Typical Duties

Work scope may include any/all of the following duties:

  • Develops software in a CMMI Maturity Level 3 environment using Scrum/SAFE and Agile methodologies.

  • Maintain and update existing front-end systems (ASP.NET, C#, Javascript, Silverlight, Angular, TypeScript, Web services, Breeze, Web API...).

  • Develop new front-end and/or middle layer features

  • Collaborate with team daily, remotely, to integrate new features

  • Breakdown Requirements

  • Create User Stories

  • Participate in Release Planning

  • Work in two week iterations

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Education Desired/Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems; or the equivalent work experience and at least one (1) year of related work experience.

Required Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Experience Required

Knowledge, skills & abilities required/desired:

  • Must be knowledgeable with Angular, TypeScript

  • Must be knowledgeable with JavaScript, HTML5, C#, ASP.NET

  • Must be knowledgeable with Common Software Design Patterns

  • Must be knowledgeable with existing front-end systems (ASP.NET, C#, Javascript, Angular, TypeScript, Web services, Web API...).

  • Must be knowledgeable developing new front-end features

  • Collaborate with team to integrate new features

  • Participate in Release Planning

  • Work in two week Sprints, Daily Standups

Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing in a Visual Studio / GIT environment

  • Developing in Angular, WebAPI, creating SPAs, MVVM, Controllers

  • Agile Software Development Experience

Mobile First Design experience

Training & Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systemsor equivalent work experience

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Light - some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meetings and/or training users. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to move objects. Exposed to computer monitors, copy machine, and constant wrist movement. Operates typical office equipment such as computers, copiers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment:

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Cubical environment in a confined/restricted work area.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Attendance:

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

May be required to work outside of normal shift hours when required for mission support.

Must be flexible to support the customer.

Other Essential Functions:

Must be able to secure and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
