Position Summary

Jacob’s Energy and Power Solutions Group has a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on power generation applications. The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for substation projects for various district energy clients including municipalities and large university campuses.

  • Substation Equipment selection and arrangement, One-Line diagrams, Wiring and Control Schematics, Relay Function Diagrams, SCADA network design

  • Equipment specification development, procurement planning and factory acceptance testing of switchgear, high voltage breakers, GIS, transformers, and generation control equipment;

  • Coordination of electrical interconnection to the utility power grid;

  • System modeling and calculations including lightning protection, grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analyses;

  • Protective relay setting development, calculation, and coordination studies, including SCADA and SEL RTAC systems;

  • Power distribution infrastructure including ductbanks, manholes and pull boxes

  • Power generation, combined heat and power, utility transmission and distribution on multiple projects of various sizes.

  • Development of construction document packages including required specifications and drawings that will be utilized for bidding and construction.

  • Client interface and communication and coordination with contractors and outside parties;

  • Training, quality control, engineering design and analysis.

Qualifications

  • B.S. (minimum) in Electrical Engineering is required

  • Professional Registration (P.E.) is preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar industry is required

  • Must have strong analytical, conceptual, technical writing and presentation skills.

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management is required

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment is required
