Jacobs is actively seeking highly talented an experienced Senior Construction Inspector for employment in the Fort Worth area. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in performing construction inspection duties on airfield pavement construction projects.
This person will Inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractors build airfield pavement projects in accordance with plans and specifications; acts as consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; trains others; serves as the only inspector on a construction project or assist in overseeing construction inspection activities for very large or complex projects.
Seeking someone with recent experience as a construction inspector for a military concrete airfield pavement project that used the Unified Facility Guide Specifications (UFGS). Past project experience on military concrete airfield pavement projects and/or FAA concrete airfield pavement projects and utilities. Experience with coordinating with the contractor’s quality control inspector and material testing firm to ensure the specification requirements are complied with. Experience with the review of the quality control reports and supervising the owner’s quality assurance material testing firm and tracking the contractor’s corrective action. Documenting the construction progress with written daily reports. Experience with being the sole on-site construction inspector representing the owner and coordinating with the owner on a regular basis on the status of the project. Reviewing the contractor’s pay requests and schedule and making recommendations to the owner for payment and schedule compliance.
Attends construction meetings and answers questions from contractors and other attendees.
Ensures contractors build airfield improvements in accordance with plans and specifications.
Monitors project phasing and traffic control plans or airfield closure plans and ensures compliance with approved safety standards.
Observes and inspects ongoing construction work.
Responsible for timely scheduling of inspection and materials testing needed to maintain pace of construction.
Daily construction record-keeping activities; recommends payments to contractors; recommends change orders, extra work orders/supplemental agreements; reviews proposed change orders; prepares monthly and final estimates.
Provides accurate project documentation on a daily basis.
Assists in engineering-related data collection, inspections, assessments, analysis, and review activities for plan development by others.
Resolves differences in interpretation of plans and specifications.
Serves as a lead worker or project leader.
Trains and mentors less experienced inspectors on work methods.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups
Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints, maps and scheduling data
Performing calculations to include material and labor estimates, expenses, technical survey data and engineering calculations
High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
At least 15 years in construction inspection is required; related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.
Ability to obtain a security clearance for an on-site badge and obtain on-site driving privileges is required.
Driver's license, Class C is required
Required to work weekends and holidays.
Required to work hours other than 8 to 5.
Required to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.
