Position Summary

We provide our clients award-winning planning, engineering, architectural and interior design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery. At Jacobs our Sr. Electrical Engineers have exceptional design and analysis skills, which they utilize to plan and design electrical systems for federal buildings and facilities, including hangars, training facilities, squadron operations facilities and other federal projects.

  • Design complete electrical systems, including low and medium voltage distribution

  • Knowledge of low voltage systems such as telecommunications, access control and security systems is a plus

  • Perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls

  • Prepare load analysis, including arc flash analysis, for the advanced stages of design

  • Prepare detailed project electrical systems drawings

  • Prepare basis of design report for the project

  • Prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms

  • Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building

  • Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment

  • Manage an electrical project team

  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred

  • PE License is required

  • Minimum 10 years working for a MEP firm is required

  • Proficiency in REVIT or AutoCAD software is required

  • Proficiency in SKM, etap or similar design software is required

  • LEED AP is preferred
