Your Impact:

You’ll join our dynamic land surveying team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice therefore we have a need for a Land Survey CAD Technician to assist on several of our projects to support our Survey Department in the North Texas region. This position will also support other disciplines within Jacobs at various capacities.

Principal duties and responsibilities with a heavy emphasis in Transportation projects along with TxDOT experience and a single-family background:

  • Draft legal descriptions and exhibits with minimal supervision.

  • Must have knowledge and experience working with various types of boundary surveys, ALTA survey’s, parcel plats, subdivision plats, and right of way mapping.

  • Perform drafting assignments, requiring advanced working knowledge of standards, practices, and techniques in the land surveying industry.

  • Process survey data following company standards and be generally familiar with survey field procedures.

  • Demonstrates organizational and planning skills while working under pressure to meet multiple project deadlines.

  • Excellent attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.

  • Ability to surge work as needed working beyond 40 hours at times when schedule allows.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience with MicroStation V8i GeoPak.

  • Previous experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D with Carlson

  • Computer literate in Windows, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Must be willing to travel to multiple office locations and have valid driver’s license.

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Use of Trimble software products

  • TopoDOT and / or Cyclone for point cloud data experience

  • Prior surveying experience in the field

  • Specialized vocational training or degree in the surveying industry

  • Experience using Trimble equipment and software products

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
