We're looking for a Lead Civil Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects at some of the world’s most state of the art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.

You will work in a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products. You will perform all aspects of civil engineering and design and independently apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. You will also develop designs that require innovation and ingenuity, be expected to perform work with little to no supervision, review work of discipline team for adequacy on completion and provide technical guidance to drafters/designers and engineers. Individual will be responsible for leading the project design for facilities site development and the overall quality of civil engineering work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing support, and project profitability for the civil engineering component of facility planning and design projects including:

  • Ensure the expectations of the project deliverables are met for your discipline, ensuring the quality expectations, schedules and budgets

  • Assist in project proposals by ascertaining scope, determining the required design budgets and when necessary, serve as an expert during proposal presentations

  • Work with others as required to incorporate code and safety requirements into designs

  • Organize, assign, and delegate necessary engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers.

  • Manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals

  • Must be capable and experienced in assessing site features and utilities systems and pavements, developing integrated facilities site plans, design to cost, develop cost budgets for civil engineering design effort, and manage GIS database and files.

  • Candidate must be experienced in assessing existing pavements, grading, stormwater systems, and utilities systems and developing cost-effective and feasible plased plans for upgrades and replacements, delivering sustainable facilities designs and Low Impact Development.

  • Must be able to supervise topographic/utility survey team on site, work with/guide them to prepare the deliverables.

  • Facility and/ or Industrial design experience including pharmaceutical/specialized manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, data center, or similar: wet and dry calculations, specification, detailing and sizing

  • Provide support during construction to answer questions on design, and to perform design verification walks to ensure design compliance.

  • Assist in the development of calculations, specifications, construction drawings, and the civil model (in AutoCAD Civil 3d).

  • Provide design direction to Engineering and Design team as coordinated with Senior Civil Engineer.

  • Fully understand all civil scope, recognize how that scope is both generated and impacted by other disciplines, and identify scope change to Senior Civil Engineer or Project Manager.

  • Work with Senior Civil Engineer to develop and manage schedule, budget, and staffing forecasts for the civil scope. Provide updates on scope progress as required.

  • Attend project meetings and takes an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines. Provide meeting records.

  • Participates in and champions internal, cross-discipline, and external project quality reviews.

  • May be asked to act as the stamping Engineer of Record for smaller projects.

  • When required, take ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the deliverables, including calculations and all construction documents.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Facility and/ or Industrial design experience including pharmaceutical/consumer/chemical manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, data center, or similar

Ideally you'll also have:
