The increasing need for electric vehicles (EV) and battery facilities demands innovative engineering solutions. Jacobs has grown a global integrated team to serve our EV clients with staff across 17 time zones, who speak 10 different primary languages. We’re looking for a Design Manager for Electric Vehicles to be located with our client team in Fremont, California ; relocation may be available.
You’ll work closely with our global clients in the EV market to position Jacobs as a preferred partner and drive the delivery of connected and sustainable solutions by leveraging capabilities, client relationships, and expertise to deliver outcome focused solutions as well as drive continual improvement of growth strategy and project delivery. With your strategic mindset, you’ll develop partnerships both internally and across wider industry to enable growth. You’ll shape the future of the business through the identification and selection of new pursuits, working collaboratively with Initiative Leads, Client Account Managers, subject matter experts and Sales Operations. You’ll have a lead role in managing client relationships throughout the sales process through the transition to project delivery.
You will create opportunities to fully utilize your project delivery capabilities, taking the lead in mobilizing new projects, enabling successful project start-up by bringing together Jacobs’ talent and systems to solve our clients’ challenges. As a collaborative leader, you will motivate your team to learn and explore creative options, challenging them to look for new ideas and innovative ways of delivering for our clients.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Measure of Success:
A passion for energy transition/climate action and the electric transport industry
5+ years’ AEC consulting experience and licensure
Strong communication and presentation skills including ability to lead delivery of work winning written proposals and influence internal & external stakeholders
A solutions mindset with demonstrable experience of having deployed flexible, innovation led strategies
High levels of resilience and agility with the ability to handle high volumes and pace of change
Experience in client facing roles
Hands on knowledge of Revit, BIM360 and NavisWorks to collaborate with the client and our team
Ability to build relationships with client sourcing and staffing managers to understand their ongoing project and team needs
Experience driving collaborative design with clients
Here’s what you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Facility and/or Industrial design experience including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or semiconductor facilities, data center, or similar
People Leadership Capability
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with peers and external customers
Experience coordinating multiple parties
Able to meet deadlines, no exceptions – “Complete Finisher” attributes
Good technical writing ability
Excellent communication skills
