Description

JWICS Engineer supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the IRES contract. Position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA. Engineer specializing in the management and operations of a JWICS environment in support of the Missile Defense Agency and the Integrated Research & Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract in the National Capital Region. The JWICS Engineer will perform cybersecurity compliance, operational sustainment, and other general IT tasks as required to ensure continuous performance. Job duties will include operating, maintaining, and defending the server, storage, virtual and active directory infrastructure. Building and maintaining Windows and Linux servers and workstations, performing administrative operations and maintenance functions of server hardware and software, and downloading and installing critical patches on systems IAW MDA rules and guidelines. Troubleshooting any system errors or user issues, tracking resource utilization and performance of systems, and performing modifications and upgrades as needed. Will be required to coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure. Other Systems Engineering/Administration duties may be required.

Qualifications

Requirements:AS degree and 10 years general experience. 6 years relevant experience and 3 years management and/or leadership experience . Previous systems administration/engineering experience managing Windows desktops and servers, office products, and a small virtual environment. Exchange and database experience. Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and account management. Networking and cybersecurity experience. DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification CompTIA Security CE Certification. Strong networking background with an emphasis on security. Strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently as well as collectively within a team, apply critical thinking techniques, and effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in writing. Ability to quickly adapt to new situations and a willingness to learn new technologies. Active DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance.

Desired: Experience with Remedy Incident and Change Management ITIL v3 Foundations certification. Microsoft, VMware, or other CompTIA Certifications. Experience working with JWICS and/or MDA.
