As a key member of our Gainesville FL team, you’ll join our collaborative process providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, and design-build project delivery. You’ll be leading the civil design for a variety multi-millions dollar projects, while experiencing tremendous growth opportunities in a flexible work environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work in U.S. projects as well as international projects, involving site development, water/wastewater facilities, constructed wetlands, environmental remediation, conveyance, etc. This position will also support senior level engineers to complete planning/study documents, preliminary design, detailed design, permitting documents, and engineering reports. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with other engineers and technicians in multi-discipline group serving a wide range of Clients and projects.

Responsibilities include:
Perform civil design tasks related to:
Site development and site/facilities layout
Stormwater and drainage
Roadway and pavement alignment
Grading
Erosion and sedimentation control
Utilities and conveyance piping
Lead conceptual and detailed designs for multi-discipline projects for civil infrastructure /water/wastewater/environmental
Coordinate with other disciplines such as architects, mechanical, structural, electrical and process
Prepare plans and specifications, engineering reports, technical memos, engineer’s cost estimates, and quantity take-offs
Perform site civil design using CADD tools such as Microstation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and specialty software, such as ICPR
Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities, as required
Review construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents
Travel to project sites in Florida, nationwide, and international to meet Clients, subconsultants, and perform field inspections
Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
Between 4 and 10 years of experience in the civil engineering field
Florida Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment
Basic knowledge in the use of CADD tools, such as Microstation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Site Civil Design experience, such as performing stormwater design calculations, roadway and pavement design, grading and drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control design, and stormwater pollution prevention plan development and calculations
