We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Director to be based in our Glasgow office.
Role responsibilities include:
Experienced inworking with proposal teams to secure projects, the post holding will beinvolved in writing proposal documents and estimating resources and man-hoursto support the appropriate proposal strategy for the bid
Lead thesuccessful delivery of the preliminary design and statutory procedures duringpre-construction project development phases using the AWP approach.The post holder will lead and create theconstruction strategy, scenario, methodology and programme.
Support theproject with the development of the Sub-contracting and partnering strategy.
Developliaison between other key Jacobs departments, Partners, sub-contractors andexternal agencies.
Coordinatetechnical input on constructability throughout the development of the design ofa project.
Provideleadership on issues relating to the construction of the works using the AWPapproach and ensuring co-ordination and co-operation of other Jacobsdepartments. This will also include liaison with partners, sub-contractors andexternal bodies for the purposes of design development and statutory procedures.
A significantlevel of health, safety and environmental experience will be required.This is to proactively input to keyconsiderations (during design) and advising on realisation of mitigation.
Goodcommunication skills are required in order to effectively liaise with theproject team and client staff regarding construction activities.
Goodunderstanding of both Prime and Su-contracts with experience of administratingboth post award.
Goodunderstanding of Project controls, including change management, constructionscheduling and cost forecasting
The postholder will be required to have experience delivering large ($500mm to$1,500mm) capital construction projects.
A background in engineering construction in a contracting environment ispreferable.
Significantexperience, with a demonstrable track record of leading and delivering a broadrange of construction activities at site level.
The ability toreview potential design proposals and assess the likely impact and risksassociated with constructing the works.
Familiarwith construction methodologies, processes and techniques associated with ECRengineering projects.
Knowledge ofhealth, safety and environment aspects relating to the construction industry.
Ability toproduce project procedures pertaining to the construction works.
Mentor, trainand support construction team members to further careers and improve thestandard of Construction staff.
Excellentcommunication skills are required.
Ideally Degree or above in Engineering/Constructionmanagement or equivalent.
