PSP(N) is the overarching vehicle for delivering the major projects on behalf of Defence Infrastructure Organisation for the sustainment; through life extension and development of facilities to support the next generation submarine programme “Dreadnought”. Total programme budget will be circa £1.3Billion, of which over 50% will be subcontracted Work scope. Projects vary from specialist activities through to civil and infrastructure work.

Experience

To be successful in this role you will have a background in Contract and Commercial Management and have an understanding of delivering major projects, including tendering, negotiation, contractual T&C’s, cost, risk and change with a sound working knowledge of NEC Contracts.

You will be able to constructively challenge project teams and key stakeholders to ensure robust commercial performance and present key messages at senior levels. Experience of Large Project Joint Venture agreements and relationships and leading teams on large projects is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

Support the Head of Commercial, PSP(N) in delivering the contracts and procurements in support of FNI CAP commercial strategy and perform Pre-Contract and Post- Contract activities.

Support the Project Managers and ensure effective management of awarded contracts including progress reporting, milestones and interim valuations, early warnings, compensation events and changes.

Strong commercial understanding including the ability to interpret Terms & Conditions.

Lead Contractor Management and Engagement processes.

Demonstrate sound technical understanding.

Proactive Contract Monitoring and early identification of issues and problems

Ensure contractual compliance by contractor and ensure contractual deliverables are

submitted in a timely and an acceptable manner;

Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism;

Builds and maintains strong professional, trusted relationships with management, peers and staff;

Provides guidance, persuades and influences decision makers;

Enthusiastic and committed attitude toward work and task completion

Job Qualifications

MCIPS or a minimum of 10 years’ experience

Technical or Business School qualification;

Associate or full Member of Recognised Institution preferred

Experience of working with NEC contracts
