About The Opportunity:

Due to increasing demand in a progressive exciting framework, we are expanding in defence and security to recruit and Electrical CAD Designer to join our Defence & Security business. This role will ideally be based in our Glasgow office, but can be based from our other locations throughout the UK. There will be a need for periodic visits to client sites as projects require.

The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston. Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Using CAD software to draft various electrical systems in the production of electrical drawings.

  • Producing single line diagrams, schematic drawings, layout and arrangement and equipment drawings etc.

  • Working with a team of EC&I engineers in supporting the development of engineering deliverables throughout various stages of the project.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Essential

• Possess in depth knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline.

• Experience in HV/LV distribution systems.

• Experience in LV systems and electrical building services.

• Possess suitable security clearance or capable of obtaining relevant NSV clearance.

• Willing to travel if/when required.

Desirable

• Background in project electrical design work in specialist area preferred (Nuclear and Defence Sector).

• Professionally qualified (e.g. Incorporated/Chartered) Engineer with a degree (preferred but not necessary) in the relevant discipline.

• Experience in using AutoCAD software.
