As a leader in the environmental sector we are at the forefront of consenting some of the most important infrastructure currently being planned and implemented across the UK and internationally, supporting projects from initial conception through to construction and maintenance.

To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our Water Environment team in Glasgow. The successful individuals will support a range of projects for clients in major public and private sector organisations and will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities. Duties associated with this post will include:

  • Undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and preparing Water Environment EIA Report (EIAR) chapters for major infrastructure and flood management projects.

  • Preparing regulatory CAR licence applications for activities associated with projects that are likely to impact on the water environment.

  • Undertaking fieldwork and water quality monitoring to support EIAR chapters, CAR licence applications and construction projects.

  • Undertaking technical assessments in hydrology, water quality, flood risk and hydromorphology to support EIAR chapters and CAR licence applications.

  • Providing environmental input into the design of major infrastructure projects, thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.

  • Identifying potential health and safety hazards of specific projects or work elements and demonstrating a commitment to your own safety and that of those around you.

  • Financial monitoring of projects, document control, progress reporting, and other project management tasks.



  • A good degree qualification in relevant environmental natural science

  • A good understanding of environmental impacts associated with major infrastructure projects

  • Excellent written and oral communication, including, editorial skills

  • Strong organisational and numerical skills

  • Strong team working capabilities

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to apply knowledge to practical situations

  • Ability and competency to undertake fieldwork

  • A focus on results and project delivery.


  • Clean driving licence.

  • 2nd Degree e.g. MSc or higher qualification.
