Human Capital Applications development team is part of the Corporate IT Enterprise Applications group and responsible for support and enhancements to the Oracle HCA ERP suite including Core Oracle HR, Onboarding and vendor interfaces.

Role Outline/Responsibilities:

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Within the context of a global corporate e-Business suite, the successful candidate will develop IT

  • solutions that meet user group requirements within agreed budget and time constraints alongside

  • providing support to maintain and enhance existing applications, programs and business

  • processes.

Analysis / Development Activities

  • Define user requirements

  • Highlight potential areas of conflict with existing systems, procedures or user groups

  • Provide realistic build estimates

  • Develop and unit test to ensure proposed solutions meet the user requirements [Q/A]

  • Ensure developments comply with Oracle best practices including knowledge of data modelling,

  • performance tuning, design patterns and scalability

  • Keep the Development Manager abreast of progress and exceptional activity

  • Involved in Data migration activities of Core HR through conversion scripts and WEB ADI(like personal, assignment, job, position, grade, qualifications, phones, SIT's, initial balance, bank details, element entry, pay proposals etc)

  • Build reports using PL/SQL, XML/BI Publisher

  • Data migration from Oracle applications using outbound interfaces for payroll and other systems

  • Responsible for coding, testing & debugging of Interface Scripts, shell scripts, conversion API's and packages.

  • AIM documentation( BR100, MD050, MD070)

  • AME setup and custom code development(Approver groups, Attributes) for SSHR

  • Defining Users, Responsibilities, Creating Functions, Menus, Request sets, Request groups, Registering Concurrent programs, Lookup types and defining Value sets.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues found in Oracle Advanced Benefits.

  • Create Oracle Alerts to notify HR, employee, supervisor on various events like new hire, benefit enrolment, termination etc.

  • Customizing oracle applications using OAF customization/personalization, Workflow, PL/SQL, forms personalization and Fast Formulas.

Support Activities

  • Prioritise support requests and redirect if required. Keep user informed of estimated resolution timescales.

  • Liaise with other team members to resolve the item within an effective timescale.

  • Take responsibility as point of contact with software and service providers where SLA's as in place.

  • Ability to work under pressure without compromising on the quality of solutions



  • Extensive commercial experience in a development role.

  • BS/BA in Information Systems or Computer Science or a combination of technical training and experience

  • Solid understanding of relational database theory

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Exposure to Oracle DBMS 10g/11g with strong SQL and PL/SQL skills

  • Exposure to Oracle e-Business suite 11.5 / 12

  • Experience of Oracle development Tools, (Forms & Reports, SQL\

  • Loader, XML/BI Publisher)

  • Experience of OAF development

  • OAF page and Forms Personalization


  • UNIX shell scripting

  • Experience with Change management tools

  • JAVA or any other OOP technology

  • Web Development Skills - JavaScript, HTML 4/5

  • Functional exposure to the Oracle HCA suite
