Opportunitieshave arisen for Principal Engineers with Highways experience in either the Swedish or Norwegian markets , and with Swedish /Norwegian and English language skills .

Location in Glasgow,London or Manchester would be preferred due to the location of our existing designteams, however, we are willing to consider alternative employment locations inany of our many UK offices. We also have a small office in Sweden which wouldalso be a possibility.


  • Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work and lead a team ofengineers and technicians working on a variety of projects

  • You will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies,scheme reports, scheme design for highways, drainage, flooding and a variety ofother projects

  • You will be responsible for resolving technical issues as they occur fora range of areas across the project and for the monitoring of progress

  • You will be expected to attend progress meetings, public exhibitions andpublic inquiries as necessary.

  • You will need to check and approve documentation prepared by others inthe team, this will involve short timescales and delivery


Essential Criteria

  • Relevant experience in either Swedishor Norwegian Highways design markets

  • Both Swedish and English languageskills

  • Provenexperience of most aspects of highway schemes

  • Confident withproven interpersonal and communication skills

  • Thorough understandingof DMRB standards

  • Capable of managinga challenging workload subject to change at short notice

  • Good IT skills

  • Driving licence

  • Communicationskills (Ability to converse articulately with clients)

  • Knowledge of thefinancial management and control of projects

  • Able to producewell-presented and accurate reports

  • MX/3D Cadproficient, and/or drainage design capabilities (WINDES or equivalent)

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of construction supervision.

  • Good working knowledge of different contracttypes and procurement options
